Transmission Services

Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchange

Why is it important?

Transmission gears deliver power from the engine to the drive wheels, shifting automatically to provide the power and efficiency for your driving speed. Transmission fluid cools and lubricates the gears. Over time, this fluid degrades, and its lubricant qualities diminish. Changing the fluid at the correct intervals can help prevent premature wear and damage to the transmission.

What is the service?

Removal of the old transmission fluid and replace it with new, clean fluid of the grade recommended by your vehicle manufacturer.

Automatic Transmission Drain & Fill service includes:

Manual Transmission

The manual transmission is a speed and power-changing device located between the engine and the driving wheels of a vehicle. It provides a means for changing the ratio between engine RPM and driving wheel RPM to meet each particular driving situation.
Manual transmission fluid provides lubrication to gears, bearings, shafts, and other internal components. Heat, pressure and friction can slowly breakdown the additives in the manual transmission fluid. In addition, small particles of metal may come off the gears as they wear and these metal particles can mix with the fluid. Fluids can also become contaminated with water.

The service includes:

·    evacuating the old manual transmission fluid
·    filling the manual transmission fluid with the manufacturer's recommended type and quantity of new fluid

Cooling System Services

Radiator Antifreeze / Maintenance Services & Coolant Service

Why is it important?

The engine cooling system in your vehicle circulates antifreeze through the engine and radiator. The antifreeze is formulated to prevent corrosion inside the cooling system to maintain optimal engine operating temperature regardless of outside conditions. Replacing the antifreeze at regular intervals can help prevent overheating, freezing and premature cooling-system corrosion.

What is the service?

The old antifreeze is removed from your radiator and replaced with new antifreeze per your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations. .
Brake Services

Why is it important?

The Brake system provides the ability to stop a vehicle efficiently and safely. A well maintained Brake system protects the vehicle, driver, passengers and others sharing the road. Periodic inspection of friction material, vital system components and hydraulics helps to ensure efficient system performance and cost effective repairs.

What do we do?

Technicians begin with a thorough inspection of a vehicle's brake linings and key components. A written evaluation, with detailed diagnoses of findings, is provided and reviewed with the customer. Service recommendations are based on the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and the existing condition of brake components that impact system performance.

How often?

Vehicle manufacturers recommend brake inspection at regular intervals, usually every 15,000 miles, to ensure vehicle safety and cost effective repairs. Repairs are recommended based on vehicle manufacturer specifications and existing conditions for brake linings and other key components.

Fuel Filter Replacement

Why is it important?

The fuel filter is located on the fuel line that brings fuel from the tank to the engine. The filter removes contaminants and particulates so fuel can flow to the engine smoothly and without obstruction. A clean, unclogged fuel filter can help prevent reductions in engine performance.

What is the service?

The old fuel filter is removed and replaced with a new one that meets your manufacturer's recommend.

Air Conditioner Recharge Service

The function of an air conditioner is to help remove the heat and humidity from inside the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Powered by a belt, the air conditioning compressor compresses the refrigerant to pressurize it and pump it through the system. The refrigerant is pushed through a valve where pressure and temperature are reduced. The now-cool refrigerant travels through the evaporator in the passenger compartment. As a result, cooled air is blown into your vehicle.

The service includes:

·    visually inspect the air conditioning compressor drive belt for cracks or damage
·    visually inspect accessible components for leaks or damage
·    check the operation of the air conditioning compressor and other air conditioning components
·    evacuate refrigerant from the system
·    vacuum test the system
·    recharge the air conditioning system using the appropriate refrigerant to the system capacity according to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications

Serpentine Belt Replacement

The serpentine belt transfers power from the engine to operate various engine components, including the alternator, water pump, power steering pump and the air conditioner compressor.

The service includes:

·    visually inspecting the serpentine belt
·    removing the old serpentine belt and installing a new serpentine belt

Please note: Not all service centers offer all A/C Services. Please call ahead to ensure the services are available.

Engine Air Filter Replacement

Why is it important?

Air is drawn into the engine as a critical part of the combustion process. The engine air filter captures airborne contaminants such as dirt, dust and even bugs before they can enter the engine. A dirty, clogged engine air filter can contribute to poor overall engine performance.

What is the service?

The engine air filter is removed and inspected. If necessary, a new, clean engine air filter is installed.

Windshield Wiper Replacement

Why is it important?

Windshield wiper blades are made of a soft rubber compound. Over time, the elements break down that compound and make it brittle. As this happens, your windshield wipers will leave streaks, potentially affecting your ability to see the road ahead and compromising your road safety.

What is the service?

With every Lube King Oil Change we inspect your wiper blades and let you know if they are cracked, split, torn or brittle indicating that it's time for a replacement.

Passenger Cabin Air Filter Replacement

Why is it important?

The climate control system in your passenger cabin includes a filter element that helps remove dust, pollen, mold spores and other particulates from the air you and your passengers breathe.

What is the service?

The cabin air filter is visually inspected and replaced if necessary.

Drive Train Services

The drive train serves two functions: it transfers power evenly from the engine to all drive wheels and it varies the amount of torque. The drive train may include the differential, a transfer case (in four-wheel and all-wheel drive cars) and the transmission.

Differential Service

Why is it important?

The differential is a special gear box located between the drive wheels of your vehicle. It allows the drive wheels to turn at different speeds, as they must when turning a corner. Over time, high operating temperatures can cause the lubricating fluid in the differential to break down, developing a gummy texture that doesn't properly lubricate the gears. Replacing the fluid can help you avoid premature wear on the gears in the differential, and can even help reduce wear on drive-wheel tires.

What is the service?

The old differential fluid is removed and replaced with new lubricating fluid based on your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.

Transfer Case Services

Why is it important?

The transfer case is a special gear box found in four-wheel and all-wheel-drive vehicles. It sends drive power from the engine to the front and rear axles. In all-wheel-drive vehicle, the transfer case helps to shift power from one axle to another, depending upon traction conditions. Lubricant fluid in the transfer case helps to keep its gears cool and turning smoothly. Replacing this fluid at appropriate intervals can help prevent premature wear and damage.

What is the service?

A special fluid is used to lubricate, cool and clean the gears in the transfer case. The old transfer case fluid is removed and replaced with new fluid that conforms to your vehicle manufacturer's recommendation

Light Bulb Inspection and Replacement
